About Kellie

Hi! I’m Kellie.

I’m a competitive swimmer turned triathlete. I live in Portland, ME where I’m working on my PhD in scientific things and swimming, biking, and running in my free time.

I completed my first triathlon in July of 2008,inspired by a year helping to coach a group of women training for triathlons at the pool of Drew University in Madison, NJ. Within a week I had signed up and completed my second triathlon, and now I’m an addict. I did my first half ironman (Mooseman 70.3) in 2010 and I am officially registered for Ironman Lake Placid 2012! Along the way I’ve found myself welcomed into an amazing community of cyclists, and tried my hand at some time trialing on my bike.

In 2012 I will be posting about my experiences as I train for IMLP… I’ve never trained on a schedule before, I’ve never run farther than 13.1 miles, and I am in the process of tackling an intense hatred of running. Lots of new experiences to come, and one Ironman finish to look forward to 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

I’ve been tracking a handful people from the Kennebunk Tri club as well. I’m still waiting for two of them to finish.
